NOTE: Since ceremonies are not permitted at Dream Lake, Janna and Austin did not have their ceremony there, they just had photos taken in their wedding attire.
Janna and Austin are the epitome of an adventure couple! They’ve traveled around the world, lived out of a converted sprinter van, and Janna is an ultramarathon runner. So, taking photos in a National Park surrounded by beautiful mountains, seemed like the perfect place to take their wedding photos!
They chose to adventure to Dream Lake for sunset, not wanting to wake up for sunrise and hoping to avoid the midday crowds. Janna and Austin started the 1.1-mile hike up to Dream Lake in their elopement attire. The hike up was beautiful and they made sure to take plenty of stops to soak in the breathtaking views and the experience.
We were met by many animal friends on the hike up including a very friendly squirrel and elk, making it seem like Janna and Austin stepped right out of a fairytale! Once we arrived at Dream Lake, the fairytale continued. Janna and Austin stood on the shores of Dream Lake as the sun peaked through clouds, bathing them in ethereal light while they took a moment to take in the view and time with each other. They explored the shoreline and adventured around the lake, even spotting a rainbow for just a minute!
Although Dream Lake elopement ceremonies are not technically allowed at Rocky Mountain National Park, you still have the option to adventure there during your wedding day! There are beautiful ceremony locations around Rocky Mountain National Park, and you can head to Dream Lake for photos before and after!
