Best Season to Get Married at Smith Rock
All seasons come with pros and cons when planning your Smith Rock elopement. Summer offers the longest days and plenty of light for long adventures, but it can also be extremely hot and busy depending on what day of the week. Spring and fall offer the mildest temperatures and vibrant colors, but again, those months also fall during the busy season and can get crowded depending on what time and day of the week you are there. Winter offers the quietest atmosphere but be prepared for cooler temperatures and the possibility of snow.
When planning your Smith Rock elopement or wedding, think about what you prioritize most in your day and then choose your season based on that. If you want privacy more than anything, winter may be the best choice for you, but if you care about temperature most, spring or fall could be best for you!
What time of day is best to elope at Smith Rock?
99% of the time we are going to recommend either sunrise or sunset anywhere in the world! Sunrise and sunset offer the best lighting almost anywhere and more often than not are the quieter times of day for locations.
For Smith Rock State Park elopements, we recommend sunset! The direction of the light is very flattering and accentuates the landscape. Sunrise elopements can be amazing too but the lighting can be a bit harsher (and you have to wake up super early!).
